AI BeachBoy Sam

Sam is a university student in Houston, Texas. He was recruited to appear in the video sampling Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling In Love by the photographer's younger brother Melvin.

According to Sam, the photos for that video was shot twice, both times by Houston-based photographer Randy. The first round was done in Puerto Rico. The photos were sent to Pete and Joey, the team's two AI artists in New York. Pete generated the avatars and created the video which he showed to the team. But for some reason, the team was not satisfied with the video, and a decision was taken to re-shoot.

By then Randy was back in Houston. He asked Melvin to recruit new models for a fresh shoot. Sam happened to be Melvin's friend, and so Melvin invited him to take part. The second shoot was done in Houston, and the finished video is based on the Houston shoot. Thanks to the re-shoot, Sam got to appear in the video, albeit in avatar form.

Randy wanted to create the effect of rain coming down. There was no rain at that time, so he got Melvin to spray water into the sky so that it rained down behind the models. He didn't want the models to be soaking wet, so the "rain" did not hit them directly.
